Job Description: E-commerce User Experience Researcher
Position Overview:
The E-commerce User Experience Researcher plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal user experience on our company's e-commerce platform. This role primarily focuses on conducting qualitative and quantitative research to gather insights and data related to user behavior, preferences, and expectations. The E-commerce User Experience Researcher will utilize this information to make data-driven recommendations, influence design decisions, and enhance overall user satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct user research studies to identify user needs, motivations, and pain points in relation to our e-commerce platform.
2. Plan and execute usability tests, A/B testing, and other relevant research methodologies to gather actionable insights.
3. Analyze research findings, generate user personas, and create user journey maps to establish a deep understanding of customer behavior and preferences.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UX designers, product managers, and developers, to translate research findings into actionable recommendations for improving the user experience.
5. Provide guidance on design decisions by utilizing user insights and ensuring the user's perspective is considered throughout the design process.
6. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to e-commerce user experience research.
7. Monitor and analyze user feedback, behavior metrics, and other data sources to continuously improve the e-commerce platform's performance and usability.
8. Communicate research findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders through presentations, reports, and other appropriate channels.
9. Collaborate with other researchers and stakeholders to support the development and implementation of a cohesive research strategy.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
2. Proven experience (X+ years) in conducting user experience research in an e-commerce or similar digital environment.
3. Proficiency in designing and executing various research methodologies, such as usability testing, card sorting, surveys, and user interviews.
4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations.
5. Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
6. Familiarity with UX design tools and software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision, etc.).
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
8. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
9. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
10. A passion for user research, e-commerce, and staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices.
